The Genki Spark: Taiko Projects with Attitude

The Genki Spark multi-generational Asian women's performance troupe uses Japanese taiko drumming, martial arts, spoken word, dance, and personal stories to inspire creativity, build community, and promote cultural pride to further a world of respect for all.

Our demonstrations, interactive workshops, and panel presentations on a variety of topics raise awareness, break down barriers, and create energetic environments where people grow.

Saturday May 19th:
Social Justice Educators Conference

The Genki Teens will be performing to kick off the Social Justice Educators Conference at 9AM on Saturday May 19th at The Curley School, 493 Center Street, in Jamaica Plain. It's a FREE day long conference for young people and educators/activists of all types interested in energizing education with a social justice practice. We'll also be facilitating our 'Be Loud, Be Proud, Be Genki' - taiko workshop. Open and FREE to the general public.

Volunteers Needed: Come join The Genki Spark and march in the Boston Pride Parade. We'll bring signs and festive wear to share. EVERYONE welcome.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED to march with us in the Boston PRIDE Parade

Join us to support and celebrate the beauty and accomplishments of our LGBTQ community.

The Genki Spark will be marching with MAP for Health in the Boston Pride Parade which starts at Copley Square, weaves through the South End, and finishes with the festival at Government Center. Meet at 11AM, parade begins at noon.
